Job Description

Our client is currently seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals for the position of Chemical Process Operator reporting to the Shift Supervisor. 
The primary responsibility of the role  is to operate manual or semi-automatic plant and equipment to carry out batch processes, to convert chemical raw materials into industrial products such as coatings, adhesives and sealants, and to meet product volume sales demand.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

•To be part of a shift team manufacturing products in chemical reactors.
•To accurately follow detailed written/ verbal process and safety instructions including use of personal protective equipment. 
•Pick and sample raw materials, weigh material into reactors, monitor instruments and operate equipment/valves to set conditions. 
•Take in process samples, liaise with QC and pack the finished product into the containers. 
•Keep detailed records/ fill in records as required.


Knowledge, skills and abilities:

•Candidates will ideally have previous chemical experience (or similar) preferably from a
small batch processing environment.
•Ensure that all work is performed in a safe, orderly and clean manner and be able to demonstrate understanding and respect for potential hazardous materials
•Work with minimum supervision
•Interpret and follow batch sheet instructions and other written working instructions.
•Exercise effective written and verbal communications including completion of written logs and other documented reporting
•Due to the nature of work there will be a considerable amount of manual handling, must therefore be fit and physically able to carry out activities required of the role.

Shifts:
•Hours of work are 40 hours per week on an 8 hour,  3 shift rota (06:00am-14:00pm, 14:00pm – 22:00pm, 22:00pm – 06:00am).   Will initially work days until basic training completed

Starting salary £19406 which includes shift allowance

Starting salary £19406 increasing to £21195 after initial induction is completed and rising to £22020 after  validation process is completed.  The training and validation process can take anywhere between 18 months to two years. Salary paid on a monthly basis
