Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the purchasing function, from building key relations with a diverse supplier base, to order administration, Material Requirement Planning and price negotiation.

Applicants should be assertive and confident individuals with exceptional communication skills, particularly over the telephone and should be able to demonstrate a strong background of proven cost savings.

Organisational skills are key as is self-motivation and experience of working on their own initiative.  Experience of SAP would be desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Applicants should be working towards the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Post Graduate Diploma and ideally possess at least 2 years recent buying experience within a similar size manufacturing organisation.

Candidates must possess excellent I.T skills, be tenacious, hardworking individuals who have a desire to succeed.

The hours of work for this position are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
